Jomfruland in early May on a sunny day is a unique place to look at wild flowers and a walk through the amazing oak forest, where the forest floor are covered by The Wood Anemone early in May, makes the place absolutely enchanting. If you visit Jomfruland early in May and it's a Saturday then don’t be surprised if you see an outdoor wedding in the middle of the forest.
It's one of the best places in Norway to use your bicycle (can be rented), it no car traffic, and it is a lot of great old roads and paths which is ideal for biking. Nothing is as perfect as spending the summer in hot archipelagos sun, the island has both fine sandy beaches and beautiful pebble beach’s, and several small wharf’s that provides good fishing opportunities. The island is great to visit with a boat. Opportunities are endless, like you not to delve after way and scales, visit island’s exhibitions, go on Coffee shop, or just relax. There are several overnight accommodations to varying prices. If the island’s camping isn’t the place for you there are a numbers of cabins that can be rented during the summer.

Jomfruland is an island in the Kragerø archipelago, a characteristic formation, the outermost piece of land before reaching the waves of Skagerrak. Despite the relatively modest size of the island (ca.7, 5 km long and 1 km wide), there is a very large variation in the landscape, from Precambrian gneisses without vegetation, coastline with large boulders, sandy shores with eolian dunes, shady deciduous forests and agricultural areas.
Jomfruland is located only a short boat trip from Kragerø and it goes daily ferry from Kragerø to Tårn and Aasvik wharf. The schedule can you find at Kragerø Fjordbåtsselskap. In addition another opportunity is to take a taxi boats from Valle or Kragerø to Jomfruland. The nearest airport is Torp Sandefjord.
